T's editorial

I believe that in Athens something is in the air, something invigorating and I want to be part of it. I have the feeling that there is a vibe that affects gradually everyone, or at least anyone willing to be affected. Although I would say I rather lack experience, I really want to create something out of nothing. I have an unyielding DIY concept. So does the rest of the team, I believe. Indeed, this is a team effort. There is no place for self-centredness and egoism. We are all (or at least trying to be) ‘allergic’ to this kind of selfish things, moves and way of thinking. Hence, this blog shows a bunch of people that have gathered together in order to give shape and form to their ‘arrogant’ hopes, ideas and dreams. We have the need to express ourselves, to articulate and elaborate our senses, to try to make some sort of sense of everything around and within.

Stubborn as always not to be characterised by only one label that is tagged on me without even being asked [I am afraid that is my modus vivendi ;)], I strongly believe that English is a power tool for everyone. Without renouncing my culture or language, I always put forward that there is no reason to constrain one self in only one language, one culture or one frame of mind. I choose to live and be multidimensional.

Our main goal is to reach out there….To anyone who might be interested in reading this, to anyone who might want to join or offer us a comment/collaboration/push forward. Without having anything crystal clear yet, nothing is off limits. We are open to ideas, to people, (even to sponsors ;).

Our task is to work hard, to be alerted, to observe, to be open to let everything sink in and the only way we wish all this to happen is by achieving something difficult: maintaining our uniqueness and personality whilst destroying our egoism and insecurities…We do not want to follow or be constrained in other people’s sets, frameworks or paths…We just wish to make our own path..

So come on peeps… one step at the time …no reason to waste more time so hop we go..

2. E-magazine

I strongly support the idea of putting our arses down and try to make an emagazine. It won t cost us as much as a printed one and we can add several ideas into it (comments on anything we like, alternative statements and views on art exhibitions, bars and socially driven tendencies ie fashion and trendy styles, a constant reportage regarding our stubborn and somehow guerrilla persistence against the inflexible way of arty talking or arty behaving, etc)

3. blog

Regarding the blog, my view on the matter is that it should be an ongoing project. Undoubtedly, we can use it as well as a means to communicate, to exchange our views within the team and in large and of course to have an exhibition of our step by step process of work.

4. General comment

My perception of a positive and fruitful process for us to always follow is:

• Follow a central think-tank, i.e group email or blog
• Come up with projects
• Figure out how to pull them off ;)

Γιατί είμαστε Ομάδα

Part 1

Είναι καιρός που νιώθω άδειος. Νιώθω πως χάνω τον εαυτό μου σε αποσπασματικότητες και εκρήξεις δημιουργικότητας, οι οποίες τελματώνονται γρήγορα και υπόκωφα. Σαν τεράστιες φουσκάλες, που μόλις σπάσουν, ό,τι υπήρχε μέσα τους γίνεται μια ροζ πούδρα και χάνεται στον αέρα. Αυτό το κενό που με "γεμίζει" μετά από τέτοιες "εκρήξεις" και φυσικά αυτή η αποσπασματικότητα που τελικά με ορίζει αποκτούν σταδιακά το χαρακτήρα μιας μονιμότητας, που δείχνει να μην αλλάζει εύκολα. Τελματώνομαι κι εγώ μέσα στην ίδια αποσπασματική μου δημιουργικότητα, χωρίς να οδηγούμαι σε κάποια σαφή και συμπαγή κατάσταση που να θέλω πραγματικά. Αυτή ακριβώς η κατάσταση μου γεννά τάσεις φυγής, που σίγουρα δεν θα καλύψουν, ούτε θα γεμίσουν τα κενά μου.
Μόνοι μας μπορούμε να κάνουμε τα πάντα, κι όμως τα πάντα, ακριβώς επειδή είμαστε μόνοι μας παραμένουν ένα τίποτα.
Έξαφνα ανακαλύπτω πως μόνος δεν μπορώ να πραγματώσω τις ανησυχίες μου. Αντιλαμβάνομαι πως η μικρο-καθημέρινότητα που βιώνω, το μικρο-περιβάλλον στο οποίο ζώ πρέπει να ανοίξει, να μεγαλώσει, να χωρέσει πολύ περισσότερο από τον προσωπικό μου μικρό-κοσμο. Γνωρίζω πλεόν πως αυτό που με κινητοποιεί είναι οι ίδιες μου οι αντιφάσεις. Από τις μικρότερες καθημερινές μου κινήσεις σε όλα σχεδόν τα επίπεδα της ζωής μου, μέχρι τις βαθύτερές μου ανησυχίες, οι οποίες άλυτοι γρίφοι ακόμα, μαζί με τον υπόλοιπο εαυτό μου, φτιάχνουν ένα pazzle, μωσαϊκό, ίσως και βιτρώ που συνθέτει το είναι μου.
Αυτό που αναζητώ εδώ, τώρα, είναι να μπορέσω να αφηγηθώ την ιστορία μου. Αυτή την ιστορία που με οδηγεί να "ανοίξω" τον (σε εισαγωγικά πάλι) "καλλιτεχνικό" εαυτό μου. Θέλω να προσδιορίσω και να προσεγγίσω το γιατί αποζητώ την συλλογικότητα. Θέλω να αφηγηθώ μια ιστορία, που θα γίνει συλλογική ιστορία, συλλογικό παραμύθι, συλλογικό παιγνίδι. Μία ιστορία που θα ξεφύγει από τον αφηγητή της και θα αποκτήσει μέσα από όλους μας τη δική της υπόσταση για να μπορέσει να γίνει τα πάντα, αλλά όχι μόνη της. Η ιστορία αυτή θέλω να γίνει σενάριο, για δουλειά, κίνητρο για να βγεί πιο έξω από το δικό μου-μας μικρό-κοσμο και μικρο-περιβάλλον. Μια ιστορία την οποία θα μπορέσουμε να αφηγηθούμε εικαστικά, φραστικά, ποιητικά.
